Amazon Prime Day runs July 12-13 this year. We’ve got some nice deals on radar detectors and a bunch on dash cameras.
During Prime Day, I’ll be continually updating this page as new deals pop up and old ones expire so be sure to continue checking back in then.
Sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. (Now comes with 1 free year of Grubhub+ with $0 delivery fees.)
Bonus: You can earn a $10 credit to use during Prime Day and unlock around $40 of Prime Day credits.
Note: Amazon will regularly be posting flash sales throughout Prime Day, so keep an eye out for those too.
Radar Detector Prime Day Deals
The Uniden R4 is the longest range non-arrow detector available. It also adds automatic GPS lockouts, photo radar detection, Bluetooth (not yet active), and more. Right now it’s sitting at just over $100 off which is a killer deal for what it offers. You can also pick it up renewed / refurbished for $329.
Looking for a detector with arrows? Grab the Uniden R7 instead for $40 off. It’s the best bang for the buck among high end radar detectors with directional arrows. Want it even cheaper? Pick it up renewed / refurbished for $414.
Escort Max 3 for $300 ($100 off)
The Escort Max 3 offers long range performance (R4 is better), automatic GPS lockouts (better than Uniden’s), MRCD and MRCT, and Bluetooth for easier setup, speed limit display, and realtime cloud alerts shared with other drivers.
Escort Max 360c for $560 ($90 off)
Arrows, convenience, Bluetooth, and WiFi for automatic updates and cloud integration. I run one in my wife’s car and my mom’s car.
Dash Camera Prime Day Deals
For Prime Day there will be a bunch of dashcam deals this year too.
Note: BlackboxMyCar is pricematching some of these deals and adding an extra 5% off beyond the pricing shown, plus no sales tax, so sometimes they’re cheaper on Amazon, other times at BBMC. I’ll link to both when applicable. 👍
Viofo Dashcams
I really like Viofo dashcams for offering great video quality and features while also being an excellent bang for the buck.
Viofo A119 v3 for $79 (20% off)
This is my favorite dashcam under $100. It records everything ahead with great video quality at 1440p / 2K, has a compact wedge-shape design, an LCD on the back, and even offers buffered-parking mode recording when using the optional hardwire power cable.
Viofo A119 Mini $109 (20% off)
The recently released A119 Mini is an upgraded version of the A119 v3 that has the same 2K / 60 fps video, but in an even smaller case, plus it adds WiFi for easier configuration / file transfers, USB C power, an optional remote bluetooth button, and voice notifications. Here’s the parking mode cable.
Viofo A129 Plus Duo $135 (20% off)
If you’d like to add a second rear facing camera, you can grab the A129 Plus Duo that does 2K front and 1080p rear recording for additional protection. It also offers an LCD screen, WiFi, and a wedge-shaped design. Note: Its parking mode is non-buffered so it only records after an impact is detected. Here’s the parking mode hardwire cable. Save an extra 5% at BBMC w/ the coupon code “Vortex20.”
Viofo A129 Pro Duo $199 (20% off)
The Viofo A129 Pro Duo is one of my favorite dashcams around. It’s like the A129 Plus Duo, but it bumps the front camera up to 4K, giving you excellent video quality that rivals cameras which cost 2x the price. This is always one of my go-to recommendations for solid video recording. It also adds buffered parking mode with the optional hardwire parking mode cable. If you don’t need the 1080p rear cam, you can also get the front only A129 Pro for $159 (20% off).
Viofo A139 3CH for $215 (20% off)
Want interior recording? My favorite option is the Viofo A139 3CH that has front, rear, and interior facing dashcams. It records in 2K in the front as well as 1080p rear/interior. Add the parking mode hardwire cable for buffered parking recording. If you’d like an integrated front/interior camera, you can also pick up the Viofo T130 3CH for $179 (33% off).
Blackvue Dashcams
I run Blackvue dashcams in my car because of their cloud features. This lets me remotely connect to my dashcam like a security camera and upload important footage directly to the cloud.
Blackvue DR900X-2CH Plus for $422 (10% off)
My personal dashcam is the Blackvue DR900X-2CH Plus. It records 4K front and 1080p rear, better parking recording and voice notifications compared to the Viofo’s, plus cloud capabilities when paired with the optional CM100LTE (9% off) so I can get alert notifications on my phone and all the useful cloud features.
Blackvue DR750X-2CH LTE Plus $386 (10% off)
The easiest way to get a cloud-connected dashcam is to pick up the Blackvue DR750X-2CH LTE Plus. Instead of relying on an external LTE module, you can pop a SIM card directly into the dashcam, giving you the internet connection for the cloud features. The dashcam is a little larger with the extra antennas and cooling, but you get 1080p recording front and rear, plus Blackvue’s great parking mode, voice notifications, and cloud features.
Blackvue B-124X Battery $280 (15% off)
For parking recording, you can pick up the Blackvue B-124X dedicated battery. While you can wire into your existing car battery, a dedicated battery gives you less wear and tear on your existing battery, generally longer record times, plus the option to add expansion batteries for even longer record times.
Thinkware Dashcams
Thinkware offers reliable dashcams with a special energy saving mode to give you much longer parking recording times.
Thinkware U1000 $399 (20% off)
The Thinkware U1000 offers 4K front recording and 2K rear recording, unlike most other dashcams that do just 1080p in the rear, plus it offers WiFi and cloud capabilities. One of my favorite features is the energy saving parking mode option which can increase parking record times from, for example, 1 day to 6 or 7 days, making it great for recording for extended periods of time.
If you’re a motorcycle rider, you can pick up the rugged Thinkware M1 motorsports dashcam for $100 off. It has two waterproof 1080p cameras for front and rear recording and it includes electronic image stabilization.
Vantrue Dashcams
Vantrue dashcams offer good video quality and simple mounting with the suction cup, but simpler parking mode recording than the competition.
This is my favorite rental car dashcam. It records in 4K and includes a suction cup mount for easy installation and removal. You can also get it with an optional 1080p rear cam for $199, or 20% off.
Want to add interior recording, especially as a rideshare driver? The N2 Pro does 1440p front recording and 1080p interior recording.
Dashcam Accessories
Here are some high endurance memory cards designed to work well with dashcams. Pick up an extra to toss in your glove box as a backup.
SanDisk 128GB High Endurance MicroSD Card $18 (27% off)
SanDisk 256GB High Endurance MicroSD Card $34 (42% off)
