The best laser jammer in 2026 is the AntiLaser Priority. It’s been the top performer for years, jams the newest guns, and gets regular firmware updates. Laser is actively used throughout the country, and radar detectors don’t provide meaningful protection against it. By the time your detector alerts, the officer already has your speed. For full protection, you’ll need a laser jammer to complement your radar detector.

With so many jammer options out there, it’s not always clear which ones work best. After extensive testing, I’ve reviewed the top laser jammers, focusing on performance, reliability, and ease of use. Here’s my guide to finding the most effective choice for you.

AntiLaser Priority: Best Standalone Laser Jammer

The AntiLaser Priority has been the top laser jammer on the market since its release in 2013, known for jamming even the newest, toughest laser guns with anti-jamming features. ALP regularly updates its firmware to keep up with new laser guns, making it the go-to choice for both countermeasure enthusiasts and myself. The jammer supports up to eight heads (four front and four rear) to ensure full coverage for all vehicle sizes.

The ALP offers advanced features including multiple auto-disarm options and accessories like an external speaker for louder alerts and a Bluetooth module for easier phone-based updates. That said, some features, like the louder speaker and phone integration are sold as optional extras which can add to the cost. Firmware updates and programming are handled through a USB drive or via the app if you have the optional Bluetooth module.

While it’s possible to integrate ALP with a radar detector like the Net Radar DSP or Radenso RC M, some functionality is lost when combining both systems on one controller. Personally, I prefer running my ALP and radar detector separately to avoid any issues. (Here’s my recommendations for the best radar detectors.)

The ALP has gone through multiple hardware revisions over the years, with many different head configurations available. As with any actively developed tech, certain hardware and software combinations can introduce issues. AntiLaser has done a reasonable job maintaining backwards compatibility, but occasionally a hardware update is needed to stay effective against the latest guns.

Now that said, while the ALP’s are awesome, there are several other laser jammers that I would also recommend that, based on your specific use case, may be a better choice for your particular needs.

Uniden Laser Jammers: Integrates with Uniden radar detectors

Uniden’s first entry into the laser jammer market, bundled with the Uniden R9w radar detector, has delivered impressive results in testing. These jammers consistently perform up at the top of the rankings, effectively handling both easier and more advanced laser guns. The system supports up to six heads (configurable in software for front or rear coverage). Although the heads are slightly wider and uglier than some competitors due to visible screws which limits placement options, they still rank among the best performers.

Notably, these jammers offer more flexibility in placement and alignment, making installation more forgiving than with the ALP. However, they’re more likely to trigger jam codes with DragonEye guns, which can be a consideration in areas where jammers are prohibited.

Uniden also offers these jammers as add-ons for the windshield mount R4, R4w, R8, and R8w detectors, but they’re only available from local installers, plus the firmware is still buggy.

Stinger Fiber Jammers: Smallest Laser Jammer Heads

If you drive an exotic sports car and want a laser jammer that’s nearly invisible, check out Stinger’s new fiber optic laser jammers.

These jammers use pairs of tiny transmitters and receivers, only 2-3mm in diameter. This means they can be discreetly inserted into panel gaps, body panels, or honeycomb grills without cutting, fitting where traditional jammers can’t. Once installed, they’re significantly less visible.

Unlike Stinger’s older models, these new jammers work well and can consistently jam newer guns like the Stalker XLR or DragonEye. However, the latest version has introduced some bugs and issues that I hope Stinger will sort out over time.

Stinger jammers cost about twice as much as an ALP, so they’re typically chosen when looks and aesthetics are a top priority.

You can integrate them with the Stinger VIP radar detector or run them standalone with their new strip display or just an alert LED. The fibers offer different placement options from traditional jammers so it’s best to contact a Stinger distributor in your area to determine how many fibers you need and where they should be installed on your vehicle.

Escort VX Laser Shifters: Integrates with Escort Detectors

Next, let’s look at Escort’s latest VX laser jammer, available with the custom installed Redline Ci 360c, or available standalone with the ZR6 and can also integrate with compatible windshield mount Escort radar detectors.

Compared to the previous ShifterMax (used in the Max Ci 360, ZR5, and ZW5), the heads are now 50% smaller for better concealment and placement options. The system supports up to 6 heads (shipping in the box with 5) for added coverage on larger vehicles. There’s also a new transmit-only head like the ALP’s TX head to combat tougher guns.

Escort says the jamming algorithms are similar to before, with slight performance improvements. The biggest change is the new head’s physical design. Our tests show it performs well against common Kustom, LTI, and Stalker guns, but can struggle with DragonEye guns, depending on the model and placement. On my car, it tested very well. However, on other cars they struggle more. For example, on sports cars with the rear heads installed around the rear plate, we see them struggle with protecting the rear tail lights due to their reduced sensitivity.

For windshield mount detectors, you can opt for the ZR6. These also use your detector as the interface for your detector, or they can be run fully standalone. The ZR6 has more features when paired with a detector including the all important automatic disarm feature, but you can run it standalone alongside any other radar detector if you really want their smaller heads.

Firmware updates have added features like identifying the laser gun you’re hit with. I hope for more improvements such as jamming only on the front or rear at once, not firing in both directions simultaneously in order to reduce unnecessary reflections that can lead to punchthroughs. While 3 heads per side are generally recommended, Escort sometimes suggests 4 heads up front on larger vehicles which compromises rear protection.

TMG Alpha-17: Affordable Laser Jammer

The TMG A-17 laser jammer is a more affordable option. It costs about half the price of a comparable ALP, partly because Bluetooth and a speaker are built-in. It jams most guns reasonably well, but can struggle with some DragonEye and TSS variants. Improvements like firing only front or rear heads, not both simultaneously, would be beneficial.

The CPU’s built-in speaker, Bluetooth module, and control pad simplifies setup and installation, but you’ll need to place the CPU accessibly to hear alerts and interact with the system. Common placement is next to the driver’s seat. The new A-17 has improved CPU and heads, but some wiring is flimsy and delicate so be careful during installation.

You can change settings and update the jammer using the TMG apps for Android or iOS. Android users can also integrate it with the JBV1 app. While TMG offers a relatively feature-rich and affordable option, some jamming and reliability issues make me hesitant to give it a solid recommendation.

Adaptiv TPX Automotive Laser Jammer: Most Inexpensive

The Adaptiv TPX is the most affordable laser jammer I’d recommend. While it’s basic and lacks advanced features, it effectively jams laser guns. The system comes with a waterproof CPU box, up to five heads (including a powerful CM head), a power cable, and a wired remote featuring an alert LED, speaker, two control buttons.

When you’re hit by laser, the alert LED blinks and the system beeps. However, it doesn’t provide spoken alerts to identify the gun, it lacks Bluetooth control, and the only automatic disarm option is a simple three-second timer. There’s no manual JTK option so you’d need to install a separate switch to cut power completely. While the TPX performs reasonably well against DragonEye guns with three front heads, it struggles in the rear with only 2 heads available.

The system is simple and straightforward, relatively effective, and designed to give you three seconds of jamming time to slow down before it disarms. It’s a great choice for those seeking a no-frills solution at a low price point.

Adaptiv TPX Motorcycle Laser Jammer

For motorcycles, Adaptiv also makes a motorcycle-specific laser jammer designed to fit the smaller dimensions and unique needs of bikes.

This is the same idea as the automotive jammer, but it maxes out at three heads (2 front, 1 rear) since bikes have smaller surface areas, has shorter cables which means less excess cable to bundle up and tuck away, and includes a headphone jack for helmet audio plus a handlebar-mounted LED for easy visibility.

For those seeking the extra performance and features of an ALP setup, you’ll get stronger jamming, Bluetooth control, and a customizable disarm timer. However, ALP’s longer cables and non-waterproof CPU mean more careful setup on a bike. Adaptiv remains the only company offering a laser jammer specifically designed for motorcycles.

Not Recommended Police Laser Jammers:

Now there’s a number of different laser jammers that are outdated, no longer being supported, incapable of jamming newer guns, have critical reliability issues, or in the worst cases, can’t actually jam any laser guns at all. You may read about these jammers when doing your research online, so let’s go over some other laser jammers out there and quickly go over how they compare.

Rocky Mountain Radar Odin

Rocky Mountain Radar markets the Odin and other models as “scramblers” capable of blocking radar and laser guns from reading your speed. After testing many of their models over the years like the C-495, Judge, and Odin, none have ever demonstrated any impact on preventing radar or laser readings.

RMR has gained a reputation as one of the countermeasure industry’s biggest scammers, and their radar and laser “scramblers” don’t work as advertised. Avoid these products. They’re not serious options for protection.

Veil

Veil is a laser-absorbing paint designed to coat headlights and license plates, aiming to reduce reflections and limit laser readings. However, every independent test has found that it’s ineffective.

Earlier versions had issues including cracking headlights. The newer Veil G5 was meant to be safer, but it ended up overly dark, creating visibility concerns.

Besides the obvious visual issues, independent testing has repeatedly shown that Veil isn’t effective in the first place.

Since then, Veil has updated their formula, essentially diluting it to make it less opaque, but given that it wasn’t effective in its stronger form, well… Now there’s Veil G6 and we’ve all stopped wasting time with it. At the end of the day, I recommend that you simply save your money and don’t purchase Veil.

Best Police Laser Jammer?

So what’s the best laser jammer to protect you from all the different laser guns being used across the country?

Let’s summarize everything, going over all the best laser jammers on the market and what each jammer is best suited for.

AntiLaser Priority: Best standalone laser jammer for most people. Usually an effective jammer, continual updates and improvements, but having some issues in the latest firmware that need to be addressed. Nevertheless, this is the jammer I depend on. Purchase the ALP here.

Uniden Jammers: Integrates with the Uniden R9w. Effective, forgiving in terms of placement and installation. My current favorite custom installed radar / laser package.
