Uniden has released new firmware versions for three different radar detectors to improve their audio quality. The new detectors and firmware versions include:
This is a very minor update with no other listed changes and there aren’t any details on exactly what or how the audio has been improved either, but if you’re running any of these detectors, you can now update your detectors using Uniden’s update software and check out the new audio quality. Let me know if you notice a difference!

And still nothing new for the R7?
Same question. Was the R7 just a place keeper until Uniden got their act together for the R8?
The new firmware that’s supposed to improve audio actually decreased the initial alert volume and instead appears to alert at the muted volume. That’s all I had a chance to observe during a short ride today. And I still don’t get an alert sound for Red Light Cameras since the LAST update. It only shows on the screen and only see it if you happen to look at the RD !!!
