Escort Redline EX updated to firmware 1.3: BSM filtering without TSR

Escort just released an update to the Escort Redline EX radar detector. It’s firmware version 1.3.

Redline EX running firmware 1.3

Firmware 1.3 enables BSM filtering without requiring TSR, a welcome change since TSR reduces the performance and range of your radar detector on K band. Originally the Redline EX was supposed allow for its improved BSM filtering (compared to the original Redline) without the use of TSR, but there was a bug to where the BSM filtering required TSR. Now that is no longer the case. (There are no other changes to filters or performance with this firmware update.)

In order to update your Redline EX, you’ll need to download Escort Detector Tools Pro (Windows only), plug in your Redline EX using a MiniUSB cable, and click the green update button at the bottom. The update process only takes about 10 seconds or so and once you update, you’ll be able to run your Redline EX with TSR off and still have good BSM filtering.

That’s it!

With almost all of IBM going Mac and the rest of the world slowly catching up, escort should invest a little time on the Mac app side.

    Hi Vortex

Do you know Valentine one support international gun like MRCD, MRCT, Strelka, Gatso or not?

Now we use bluetooth to set v1 use Euro Mode and extend the detecting range..

But we can not identify v1 support international gun or not.

    1. Not that I’m aware of. I’ve tested the V1 in Canada against the MRCD and it’s not a good option. It only alerts if you disable all the filters, but then it becomes a falsing machine and so you’ll never pay attention to it. With the filters enabled, it won’t alert. What you need is a detector that 1) can alert to the MRCD with K band filters enabled and 2) differentiates between just another K band signal and a low powered MRCD source. If the detector isn’t designed for these guys and you encounter them, you’re better off looking at a detector that is specifically designed to detect it.

so how do you think USA Version redline? i mean USA version redline radar detector which you can not find international gun option in the manu.

Does USA version redline support MRCD, MRCT, Strelka, Gatso or not? if i disable all filters.

If USA Version redline disable all filter can not see internaitonal gun. Do you know why? We are very confused.
